General Questions

Where are you located?

Find us on Argyle Street in South Windsor, just a short stroll from Windsor RSL.

Am I required to perform?

While we encourage students to showcase their skills, it's never mandatory. If you're uneasy about performing, let your teacher know.

Do you do exams?

Currently, we don't offer exams.

Where can I park?

Please park along the road outside the studio. To keep the entryway as safe as possible for our students the internal car park is reserved for staff. Ensure the driveway remains clear for other businesses in the complex.

Can parents watch the class?

To maintain focus, we do not allow parents watch ongoing classes. If you need to communicate with your child during class, please approach a teacher.

Is my child safe?

All our teachers hold a current Working With Children Check. For verification, feel free to contact us at [email protected].

Taking Lessons

What can I expect?

Starting time in the year can influence your experience. Mid-term entrants might need to catch up on choreography, but our supportive community will guide you.

First-time dancer?

No worries! Many newcomers haven't danced before. Our teachers and students will ensure you get the hang of it.

What time are your classes on?

Classes generally run from 4pm-9pm, Monday to Friday. We do have select Minis and circus classes earlier in the day and on Saturdays. Please check our schedule for class times.

Missed a class?

If you skip a class, you'll need to catch up on choreography independently. We maintain class pace for the benefit of regular attendees.

What do I wear on my first lesson?

Opt for comfortable attire and flat shoes suitable for dancing. Basketball shoes are ideal.

How many people are in a class?

Each class accommodates up to 30 students.

Do I have to wear a uniform?

Uniforms are compulsory, but we're flexible. If you don't have one, wear Off Centre colours: Grey, Black, White, or Blue. Uniforms items are available for purchase from reception.

Billing

Do you have a trial period?

Absolutely! Preschoolers enjoy free trial classes, and for ages 6+, we offer a $15 trial week for unlimited class exploration.

How do your fees compare?

While our fees might seem higher, they're all-inclusive. This covers costume costs, studio uniform items, concert USB, and more, making our pricing competitive and budget-friendly.

Payment Methods?

We accept monthly direct debit payments or an upfront annual payment.

Is direct debit mandatory?

Yes, all customers must opt for direct debit. If upfront payment isn't received by the first debit date, the amount will be debited.

What are the costume charges?

Costume hire fees are bundled in your monthly fee. If you opt out of the concert, there are no refunds for unused costumes or other inclusions.

Off Centre Minis Specific FAQ

Are your teachers qualified?

The Off Centre team have their Working with Children Checks and First Aid certifications. All teachers follow our structured Minis & Little Monkeys programs to have the best capacity for growth in our youngest cast members.

Can I watch my child's classes?

With over 15 years experience in the Hawkesbury we have found that our preschoolers are able to immerse themselves within our programs by having minimal distraction and other noise within classes. Leading childcare experts support an independent learning model which gives your little one an opportunity to form bonds with other adults (program coaches) and their peers making your transitional milestones within their lives a breeze. We do have a waiting room onsite where we recommend you stay for the duration of lessons over the first few weeks at least as they transition into the programs and become more comfortable with those relationships and the lesson format.

Do we need to purchase uniform and footwear?

Our all inclusive pricing model does take the pressure off what can be a stressful experience for parents new to dance and circus programs. Trial lessons may wear any comfortable clothing and joggers are great! When enrolling all you'd need to look at purchasing is the correct footwear for each style (listed below) and then we have the uniform and all costume hire for performances covered! Little Monkeys - No shoes, Minis: Tap - Black Tap Shoes, Ballet - Pink Ballet shoes, Jazz - Black Jazz Shoes

What happens if we miss a class?

As your program tuition does not just cover the classes themselves (also covering inclusions and administration) and for the best consistency in relationships formed within lessons plus keeping our class capacities in mind Off Centre does not provide any makeup lessons. We encourage all of our students to attend classes each week and if they are missing lessons due to sickness or otherwise we just ask that you inform us of their attendance and look forward to seeing them the following week for more fun!

What are your performances?

Off Centre has established ourselves as leading creators in the industry with the quality of our shows. These shows are held at both mid year and end of year points for our dance students and midway through term three for our circus students. Off Centre embraces a hybrid model where all cast members perform studio wide no matter their age. This means that you as an audience member can see not only something that is extremely entertaining but also see the path forward as your toddler paves their way through their performance journey. Off Centre inspires confidence in all performers through a nurturing environment within their lessons each week all the way to the stage. Please note that throughout the shows age appropriate music and costuming is used. Throughout the year opportunities may also arise for performances within the community however Off Centre is non competitive so students do not participate in dance eisteddfods at any age.
